Thy Kingdom Come 2020

"Thy Kingdom Come" is a global prayer movement that invites Christians
around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.
What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury
and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and
ecumenical call to prayer.

Since its start, God has grown Thy Kingdom Come from a dream of possibility into a movement. In 2019 Christians from 172 countries took part in praying ‘Come Holy Spirit’, so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ. This praying together has been across our diversity and differences as every person, household and church are encouraged to pray in their own way.

In 2020 (its 5th year), Thy Kingdom Come will run for 11 days from Ascension Day to Pentecost Sunday (21st to 31st May).
During this time, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will:

• Deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ

• Pray for 5 friends or family to come to faith in Jesus

• Pray for the empowerment of the Spirit that we would be effective in our witness.

So, this year we will be encouraging all not simply to pray that friends and family, colleagues and neighbours might encounter the love of God in Christ, but that they would experience that love in action. We are calling this Prayer and Care’.

Visit www.thykingdomcome.global to find lots more resources to help us to pray.
They have produced a wonderful Digital Family Prayer Adventure Map, available via Google Play and the App Store.

Bolton Archdeaconry is establshing a Prayer Base on social media, providing resources throughout each day for all ages (worship, meditation, prayer… and much more.), ending with a live-streamed daily prayer meeting at 7.30pm hosted by one of the Deaneries.
