"Worshipping God, Loving one another, Serving our town"
Welcome to Bolton Parish Church, part of the united benefice of St Peter, Bolton-le-Moors with St Phillip, Bolton-le-Moors. We are a Church of England parish within the Diocese of Manchester. Bolton Parish Church is the civic church of Bolton, rooted in the Anglican choral tradition, and is known throughout the town as “the Parish Church”.
There has been a Christian place of worship on the site of this church for 1200 years - and we are proud to continue this heritage of Anglican witness in the heart of the town. Our desire is to worship God together - offering both young and old opportunities to experience God's love - and to serve Him in our town and communities. We extend a warm welcome to everyone, whether confident in faith or just wanting to explore more.
Through the pages of the website, we seek to convey the life and work of our parish, its history and our plans for the future. We hope that you will find the information interesting and that it will inspire you to join us in worship or simply to explore our beautiful church.

Bolton Parish Church is now closed until further notice.
Please see the Coronavirus section of the website for more specific guidance, regular updates - and for worship, prayer and other resources.
We will still be publishing a weekly Newsletter - and a monthly Magazine and Prayer Diary. These can all be found in the "Publications" section.
As far as possible, I and my colleagues will continue to be available using the contact details available on this website.
Canon Chris Bracegirdle, Vicar of Bolton
Thy Kingdom Come - please see the new section dedicated to this global prayer initiative which runs from Ascension Day (21st) to Pentecost Sunday (31st)
Although we are unable to worship in church, we are providing a range of recorded short services via the 'Posts' section of our Facebook page. Alhough each service has a scheduled "published'"date/time (see the Calendar for details), the services can be (re)viewed at any subsequent time convenient to you, either under 'Posts' or under 'Videos' . Some services may be available on YouTube as well - when applicable, a link to the relevant YouTube page will be added to the Calendar entry (NB video will not be viewable until scheduled time).
Evening Prayer will be streamed each weekday evening at 5.30pm - starting from Easter Monday, 13th April
We have created a "Prayer Locker" - a new prayer will be added each morning at 7.45am to gradually build up a reservoir of prayers for personal use.
Some of us are also sharing in Morning Prayer daily on weekdays at 09.30 via 'Zoom'. If you would like to receive a link by email so that you can join in, please contact Revd Ian (firstname.lastname@example.org) and he will add you to the group. Unlike the videos, Zoom services are live and you can’t go back and access them later.
Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of Your mercy. Sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may find comfort, knowing that nothing can separate us from Your love.
In Christ Jesus our Lord, Amen.
