Charity Coffee Morning

I hope you read in October’s magazine the article about Michael Williams’ trip to West Africa to help build a school house. A group of us thought it would be a good idea to raise some money for the charity “Hands Around the World”.

The date for your diaries: 29th November 10-12 o’clock in the Parish Church Hall for Coffee and Cake. Tickets will be £1.50. Watch the pew slip for more details.

I hope you can all come & have a good natter.

Thank you

Thank you to Alan and Christine Wolstencroft for giving a fire screen which is now in position screening the fireplace in the Vicar’s Vestry. It will be another memento of their happy time with us at Bolton Parish Church.

What a good read!

I felt I had to write and tell you how much I enjoyed reading the magazine for October. It was full of good reading. When I get home from church on Sunday I usually read the first page with a cup of coffee and then get the lunch going. But this Sunday I read the first page and the second and then on until I had finished it. I couldn’t put it down. Needless to say we got lunch for tea.

Thanks a lot!

A special meeting of the meditation groups

The Church's Meditation Groups invite you to an open meeting with our Guest Speaker Rev. Dr. Una Kroll. Una is due to retire from public duties at Advent, so we feel very privileged to have her with us to join in our meditation and to share with us a little of her fascinating Christian Journey.

As a Medical Missionary, a Nun, a mother and a Priest Una has always fought for the things she believes in. Perhaps the most well-known cause will be the struggle for women’s ordination in the Church of England. She has written many excellent books.

The meeting is on Thursday November 13th from 2pm to 4pm. in a downstairs room at the Friend's Meeting House. Do come and join us in what will be sure to be an interesting and fruitful occasion.
