The Advent Lectures

The Advent Lectures For Churches Together in Bolton Town Centre will be held this year in the Bolton Parish Church Parish Hall starting on Thursday 27^th November. Lunch is from 12 noon and the lecture will finish at 1.30 p.m. With the overall title Caring for the Family, the topics are:

Financial poverty: CAP Debt Counselling

Spiritual Poverty: Inside & Outside the Church

Time Poverty: The Christmas Rush

Street Poverty: Homelessness, no room at the inn

NEWS FROM THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE

The Quiz night is on the 15th November 2008 in the upper hall starting at 7.30pm. Come along and exercise the brain with this light hearted quiz plus potato pie supper for £2.50. There will be fruit juice provided but should you want wine then please bring your own and we won't even charge corkage, and of course there will be tea and coffee at supper time.
For the winning team there is the magnificent Parish Quiz Trophy, and there will be prizes for the losers.
Teams of four are required but don't worry, we can sort this out on the night.

The Christmas Party is on 13th December 2008 and is for all the Church family, young and old.
It is official: Father Christmas will be able to join us during the evening so come and join in the fun from 4pm to 7pm.There will be a party tea with sandwiches, cakes, jelly and ice cream.

Please let us know if you have any ideas for future events.
In February we thought of a games night which was popular last time we ran one, or a trip out in early spring.
The date for the meal at the College has not yet been finalised but we will let you know as soon as possible.
